France (Paris)
A group of keen (new) Year 9 and Year 10 pupils from Cirencester Deer Park School set off for Paris on the morning of Monday 3 July.
During this French Enrichment Week trip our pupils and their teachers - Mrs Parker, Mrs Dobson, Miss Rubringer and Mr Lay - had two days of culture in Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, the Musee d’Orsay, Montmartre and a boat trip on the Seine, and saw a lot of the beautiful architecture of this iconic city.
Pupils had a chance to practice their French when buying ice cream and souvenirs, and they learned French with Juju who works for the travel company and taught them a lot of new vocabulary and facts about Paris. Juju also arranged for them to taste snails in garlic butter, which were very popular. We spent a day at Disneyland Paris which was also great fun.
Olide said “It was an unforgettable experience going to Paris and my favourite activity was going to Disney, even though the rest of the week was still fun and I’ve learned so much through this week.”
Olivia said “The trip was a really cool experience because it made me talk in French.”
Sophie commented “I have enjoyed all of the activities we did but most of all the Eiffel Tower because it was my first time actually seeing it.”
Joel “Paris was a fantastic trip. Every day there was an exiting activity. I highly recommend it. Also the food was AMAZING!!!”
Trip leader Mrs Parker said that she was so pleased with how fantastic the pupils were on the trip; they were all cheerful all the time even in the very hot weather, the accommodation was really good and Paris was as beautiful as ever.
