Friends Thank You
Update from the Friends of Cirencester Deer Park School
The Friends of Deer Park would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all parents who have helped and supported us this academic year, whether by volunteering to help at events, donating or buying secondhand uniform, purchasing refreshments at school events or raising money online through easyfundraising.
Despite having to cancel a number of new fundraising events due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year we have still managed to boost much needed funds for our school and have provided money for a number of school projects and equipment including:
- a new microscope camera for the Science Faculty
- cooking equipment and bakeware in Design for the new Food Preparation and Nutrition room
- new jackets for the PE Faculty for Young Leaders
- Zumba sessions for Key Stage 4 pupils.
We also held our first ever Quiz & Chilli Night (October 2019) and a Sushi Workshop (March 2020) led by a professional chef.
Thank you to all those parents and pupils who supported us at these events.
As you can imagine, over the next academic year our fundraising for the school will take on a slightly different form due to the current situation.
We kick start this with our Photography Competition ‘What Makes You Happy?’ for Deer Park’s official 2021 Calendar. Read more...
Watch this space for future fundraising ideas where you can help support us on our mission.
If you would like to find out more about the Friends of Deer Park School or help us by volunteering at any of our events we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at friendsofcirencesterdeerpark@gmail.com. Our next meeting is due to take place on Tuesday 8 September at 6.30pm in the school library. All parents are welcome to attend.
And finally… if you are shopping online, please consider using easyfundraising – it’s free and simple to use. Just visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and register Friends of Deer Park School Cirencester as your good cause. Every time you shop online at any of the participating retailers – including Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, Next, Tesco, M&S and ebay – a donation will be made to the Friends of Deer Park School. Thank you.
We wish you all a happy summer break and look forward to sharing more of our fundraising plans with you next term.
