Parenting Advice
The challenges of parenting teenagers
October 2019
The teenage years can be hard, for both teenagers and their parents. Most people have memories of particularly challenging situations - whether as a teen or later as a parent. Talking with other people - whether family, friends or external agencies - can be really useful at various stages of your child's life.
In November/December 2019, we are hosting four discussion groups offering parenting help - open to all Deer Park parents and to parents of pupils at our partner primary schools in The Corinium Education Trust. These events are designed to offer practical advice to parents who are interested in developing their skills and understanding of dealing with young people at different stages of their journey through adolescence.
These free events will be delivered by trained staff from the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program®. A member of Deer Park staff will be on hand to welcome and direct parents, but will not remain for the sessions. Please note that children are not allowed to attend with parents. The discussion groups will take place in our Expressive Arts building. You do not need to book a place at any of these sessions but if you are interested in attending, we would appreciate an email so that we can plan effectively.
