Charity Cricket 2018
Charity Cricket Match to take place on Wednesday 13 June 2018.
As Spring turns to Summer, our thoughts turn to a typical English sport - cricket - and, of course, to the annual Charity Cricket Match between the staff and pupils of Cirencester Deer Park School.
Now established as one of the pinnacles of the school sporting calendar, the 4th annual Charity Cricket Match will take place on Wednesday 13 June at Cirencester Cricket Club, starting at 4pm. Staff are eager to redress the balance as they are yet to win against the pupils! Training has started in earnest and members of staff can regularly be seen perfecting their forward drives, hooks and pull shots in anticipation.
This year we are raising money for Chance to Shine, who are a national charity on a mission to spread the power of cricket throughout schools. They work in close partnership with the County Cricket Boards and hundreds of local cricket clubs to get boys and girls playing and learning through cricket. "Life is competitive and young people need to learn at an early age how to win and how to lose graciously. Cricket brings young people from all walks of life together and teaches life skills that will stay with them forever."
Do come along to Cirencester Cricket Club in the picturesque Cirencester Park and support our teams on Wednesday 13 June 2018. There will be a BBQ and refreshments available.
