Musical Taster Evening
On Thursday 16 November 2017, the Expressive Arts Faculty at Cirencester Deer Park School will be hosting a Taster Evening, previewing our whole school production of the musical Legally Blonde Jr.
Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and smash-hit film, this exciting musical will be on stage in February 2018, but in the meantime we want to give our participants an opportunity to build confidence and perform in a more informal setting.
Similar to the format of some previous Summer Concerts, this Taster Evening will involve musical performances from the cast, a sneak preview at some set and costume as well as video footage of rehearsals. There will also be a raffle to win free tickets to the full production in February. All money raised from this will be used for costume and set design for the show. Pupils and staff have been working hard in rehearsals aiming to make this show the best Deer Park has seen!
Last month some of the cast travelled to Bristol to see a professional production of Legally Blonde at The Hippodrome, returning full of enthusiasm and with a better understanding of their roles. Read more...
We have all been rehearsing lots in the last month to get the musical numbers ready. The cast have been incredibly hard working and I am thoroughly enjoying working with them. I know they are going to impress at our Taster Evening.
Head of Expressive Arts, Miss Mulcahy
Tommy (Year 10) plays Emmett:
"I am really excited but nervous at the same time for the Taster Evening. I know it will be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to singing in Take It Like A Man."
Mia (Year 11) plays Serena:
"I am so excited to experience the atmosphere at the taster evening. I think it will give me a good idea of how fun the shows will be."
Legally Blonde Jr. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons, mirroring our School ethos of achieving more that we all first think is possible.
