After the success of Matilda the Musical in 2022, the cast and crew of Cirencester Deer Park School's production of High School Musical are aiming just as high to impress their audiences in their shows after half term: Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 Febuary 2024.
The Expressive Arts Faculty have been promoting the show in assemblies, adding to the air of excitement amongst all the pupils - those who are part of the show and everyone else in school. Our cast of over 100 pupils from all year groups was praised by Head of Expressive Arts, Mrs Gleed:
‘The cast started rehearsing for High School Musical in September 2023 and they have shown incredible commitment and fantastic resilience to make it this far. In the last few weeks, in each rehearsal a new piece of set or costume arrives in Expressive Arts and the pupils are starting to get very excited.’
The four shows will be on stage Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 February 2024, with our double cast - the Soaring Cast and the Flying Cast. Tickets go on sale from Monday 5 February at 4pm. Tickets can be purchased online under 'Products' on MyChildAtSchool (MCAS), which all families have access to, or there are a limited number of tickets available via the school Reception, on a first come first served basis, for cash. Tickets: £6 Adult, £5 Child, £1 programme. The programmes (£1, not 50p as mentioned to some pupils) are being printed to order to ensure no wastage and there will be no physical tickets for online sales - we will have a list of ticket holders on the door and it will save time on the night if you could please come with a screen shot of your confirmation email.
Pupils have one final week of rehearsals left, where we will move to the Main Hall, practising on the stage with our pupil Tech Team, putting the sound and lighting elements together with the performance. There is also a weekend rehearsal over half term, where we see the show really come together with the cast in full costume.

The Friends of Deer Park will be selling refreshments at all 4 performances - you will be able to pay by card or cash, pre-performance or during the interval. Tubs of Winstones' ice cream, a range of hot and cold drinks, chocolate and sweet treats, plus some light savoury snacks too... something for everyone!
