More Hot Days
Water bottles and suncream
If temperatures are forecast to exceed 24 degrees (according to the Met Office), we will make an exception and advise pupils they can wear their PE shorts or skorts in place of their school uniform trousers or skirts on specific days. Pupils should not decide to do this without our instruction.
Owing to the hot weather forecast for Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June 2022, we ask that parents/carers ensure that their children come to school with suncream (particularly if they have PE on those days) and a water bottle.
Please encourage your young people to stay hydrated – they can refill their bottles from the water fountains. Every cell in your body needs water, including those in your brain and your muscles, so to keep mind and body functioning well, you need to avoid becoming even slightly dehydrated. A headache is often a sign of dehydration. Everyone needs to be drinking much more water when it is hot.
There are plenty of shady spaces around the site for break and lunchtimes.
We confirm that pupils will be allowed to wear their PE school uniform shorts/skorts to school this Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June ONLY instead of black trousers/skirts, should they wish to do so. Pupils should not be in any shorts/skirts other than their usual school uniform or PE shorts/skorts. Pupils should continue to wear their school shirts and school shoes as normal.
Pupils are expected to wear their normal school uniform from Friday 24 June.
