On Thursday 27 May 2021 we ran a virtual Year 10 High Achievers Seminar over MS Teams. The timing of the event, on the eve of the pupils moving into Year 11 when we return in June, was no accident.

The seminar, led by Deputy Head Mr Clutterbuck, covered areas of learning such as how the memory works, how to plan an effective revision session, the benefits of wider reading and broader study, and concluded with a video of reflections from our Intervention Tutors, all of whom were high achievers at school.

The event was well attended with over 50 pupils. There was a short question and answer session at the end and resources from the evening were posted on the chat for pupils to access, including a readymade revision timetable to take the pupils up to the start of the Year 10 Assessments next term.

Mr Clutterbuck captured some of the feedback from the seminar: ‘Thank you, that was really helpful’, and ‘The session was quite a good look into maximising our outcomes.’
