Creating Futures Films

Watch our new videos and find out what makes Cirencester Deer Park School special.

Since the start of September 2020 we have shown over 350 families around our school and these  ‘out of hours’ tours have been really well received.

We know how important it is to get a feel for the school that your son or daughter is going to attend, and we have really missed giving you the opportunity to see our pupils learning in our classrooms and sharing the enthusiasm of our staff with you.

However, to give you a glimpse of life and learning at our school we have put together a sequence of short films, and in addition, we have provided a little more about the ambition we have for all our pupils.

I am delighted we are now able to launch our sequence of short films. They definitely capture the essence of our school and reflect the energy and excitement for learning at Deer Park.

Chiquita Henson, Headteacher

Domonic, the film producer, who helped us put the sequence together said:  ‘I first experienced Deer Park school as a parent attending an Open Day last year, and I was highly impressed. Working with Chiquita, Liz, and the team on several videos for the school recently, it’s been a pleasure to see that behind the scenes the school is just as amazing every day of the year. I was particularly taken by the co-operative and friendly nature of the pupils we interviewed for the films, and several times I found myself wanting to sit in on the classes I was filming! The teachers were so engaging and the level of conversation between the pupils and the teachers made me want to join in and learn more.’

Liz Lang, Deputy Head, said: ‘It’s always a privilege to visit lessons and see pupils and teachers working together. The work that the pupils were engaged in was really varied and it reminded me again about the high quality curriculum we have at Deer Park and the wonderful relationships that pupils have with our teachers, enabling pupils to achieve their very best.’

Our ambition is to see all pupils achieve more than they first think is possible and to be the best they can be every day.

At Cirencester Deer Park School pupils really do achieve, not only in terms of GCSE results, but in Sport, Music and Drama and Art and Design: we are about ‘Creating Futures’.
