Teacher Taster Day 2020
Are you interested in teaching? Are you educated to degree level in a relevant subject?
Join us at Cirencester Deer Park School for a free Teacher Taster Day on Friday 28 February 2020, 9am to 2pm, to find out more about teaching as a career.
There will be an opportunity to meet pupils, teachers, student teachers and teacher trainers and get the answers to your questions, such as
- How can I train?
- Where can I train?
- What qualifications do I need?
- What funding is available?
- Is teacher training difficult?
- Am I the right kind of person to be a teacher?
- Do I want to teach in a secondary school?
To register your place on our Teacher Taster Day, please call Cirencester Deer Park School on 01285 653447 or email us.
The Teacher Taster Day at Deer Park is one of a series organised by the Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership (GITEP), a highly successful School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider, recognised as one of the best in the country.
As a school we are deeply committed to training the next generation of teachers. Working with new graduates, or trainees making a career change, who are passionate about their subjects always brings benefits to the school. It engages us in conversations about teaching and learning, provides opportunities to share and develop best practice and contributes to the professional development of our existing staff as they receive training to enable them to mentor new teachers. Our pupils benefit too! I am proud to be Chair of the SCITT Committee and I am delighted with the success of the programme and the decision of so many GITEP trainees to work in and across Gloucestershire’s schools.
