Leavers' Ball 2019
Celebrating with the Class of 2019
On Friday 28 June 2019, the Class of 2019 returned to Deer Park on a beautiful Summer evening for their Leavers' Ball. As individual as their passengers, our young people arrived in and on a wide range of vehicles, from high speed cars through agricultural machinery to vintage transport, and much more in between! Parents, friends and staff gathered at the front of school to watch the arrivals and it was a pleasure to see the crowds and the Class of 2019 celebrating the arrivals.

Our thanks to Capture Every Moment who photographed the arrivals and took the official photographs inside throughout the evening. The Class of 2019 can log on (using the password on the back of their ticket) to download their photographs, which are available for 6 months from the event. Thank you to Seafare Fish & Chips in Cirencester for delivering chips on the night - they were much appreciated by the hungry teenagers!
Our thanks to staff who gave up their time on the evening and to Mr Jefferies, Mr Grant and the site team for the set up, for organising the arrivals and packing up at the end. A special thank you to Mrs Ellen and Miss Walford for their work in organising the whole event. Without the time invested by these people, our Leavers' Ball would simply not be possible.
The Class of 2019 Year Leader, Mrs Mackew, who, over the years, has seen a number of these young people through turbulent teenage times, as well as accompanying some to Ghana in 2018, commented "The Leavers' Ball was an absolutely wonderful send off for the Class of 2019. They all looked wonderful, arriving in style and dancing the evening away in a beautifully transformed Hall."
It is always a privilege to welcome our pupils as they arrive in their finery for our annual Year 11 Leavers’ Ball and this year was no exception. There was a palpable sense of excitement and, furthermore, it was a beautiful summer evening. As each vehicle delivered our pupils, they were received warmly by a crowd of spectators and each individual or group had their photographs taken. I am extremely grateful to the team of staff who transformed our main school hall for our annual Year 11 Leavers’ Ball. When the doors were opened, it looked amazing and the colours of the paper lanterns complemented those of our pupils’ suits and dresses!
Chiquita Henson, Headteacher
We hope our Class of 2019 are having a great summer and wish them all the best in whatever they plan to do in September and beyond. We look forward to seeing them back in school on Results Day, Thursday 22 August 2019 (from 9.15am), and in November for their Celebration of Achievement Evening (details of which will be sent home closer to the time).
