District Cross Country

On Wednesday 10 October 2018, we took a team of 16 cross country runners to Katharine Lady Berkeley's School (KLB) for an event in unusual conditions: dry ground, sunshine and 22°c!

There was some superb running, with our Year 7s representing Deer Park for the first time and, at the other end of the scale, experienced Year 11 runners going for the win in their last year at Deer Park. Our pupils did themselves and the PE Faculty proud. We had a runner running against the year above her and still achieving a top 15 place. Pupils ran their hearts out to get a good GCSE grade whilst others showed sheer determination in their race, having completed a hard HIIT session in lessons only an hour earlier. It is always a pleasure to see pupils shaking hands with competitors at the end of a race, showing mutual respect.

Although there were many individual achievements, we congratulate Luke P (Year 11) in particular for retaining his title as winner of the Boys Inter race for the second year running.
