Heatwave
Stay hydrated!
Owing to the extremely hot weather forecast for this week, commencing Monday 25 June 2018, we ask that parents/carers ensure that their children come to school with suncream and a water bottle. Please encourage your young people to stay hydrated – they can refill their bottles from the water fountains. Every cell in your body needs water, including those in your brain and your muscles, so to keep mind and body functioning well, you need to avoid becoming even slightly dehydrated. A headache during a heatwave is often a sign of dehydration, so everyone needs to be drinking much more water. There are plenty of shady spaces around the site for break and lunchtimes.
Boys will be allowed to wear their PE school uniform shorts to school THIS WEEK ONLY instead of black trousers, should they choose to. Wearing a skirt is a cooler option for girls, so we are not adjusting policy for girls. Normal school shoe policy applies.
