Christmas Jumper Day 2024
Supporting Cirencester Foodbank
In the run-up to Christmas, we are inviting our pupils and staff to support Cirencester Foodbank, which covers the southern section of the Cotswolds, by taking part in our Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 19 December 2024, the penultimate day of term and the same day as our Christmas Lunch, which makes it all the more poignant.
In return for a donation of an item or items for Cirencester Foodbank or a minimum donation of 50p, pupils will be able to wear a Christmas Jumper to school for the day on Thursday 19 December instead of their normal school jumper or cardigan.
Donations for the foodbank will be collected during tutor time.
A Christmas Jumper does not need to be shop-bought. A 'normal' jumper could be decorated (or festivised) - although obviously not their school jumper! Please note that a shop-bought Christmas jumper could be a hoodie, but a 'normal' hoodie should not be decorated (or festivised) into a Christmas jumper.
If your child would like a change from a jumper worn in a previous year, why not suggest they swap with a friend or sibling.
This is not a non uniform day, just the opportunity to wear a Christmas Jumper to school for the day - all other normal uniform guidelines apply.
BRINGING IN DONATIONS:
'Normal' food or non-food items
Because the deadline for sending in any Christmas-specific items for Christmas parcels has passed, please send in 'normal' food or non-food items, not Christmas-related items. You can check the BanktheFood app to find out what Cirencester Foodbank really needs now or look on the Cirencester Foodbank website - for example, they do not need baked beans, pasta or tuna.
Cash donations
As an alternative to bringing in food items, we are also collecting cash donations (a minimum of 50p) for Christmas Jumper Day.
