As the new Co-Headteachers from September 2024, we are looking forward to welcoming prospective pupils and their parents to our Open Mornings and our Open Evening. Everyone is welcome, and there is no need to book to attend our September Open Mornings and Open Evening. There is so much to see, learn and experience here at Deer Park, but our overall aim is for all pupils to be safe, happy and successful.

We are delighted to invite you and your child to join us at one of our Open Mornings on Tuesday 17 September and Monday 30 September and our Open Evening on Wednesday 25 September 2024. These events will give you a valuable insight into the quality of education, teaching and learning at Deer Park. In January 2023, when we were both members of the School’s Leadership Team, Ofsted confirmed that Deer Park continues to be a Good school. 'Parents and carers speak highly of the school. They value the communication they have with leaders and the quality of education their children receive. Comments such as ‘I couldn’t ask for a better school for my child’ were typical in Ofsted’s online survey, Ofsted Parent View.' (Ofsted, January 2023).

During both Open Mornings the school will be in ‘normal session’, but each family will have the opportunity to take a tour in the company of one of our current pupils who will share their experiences of life and learning at Deer Park.  There will be no formal presentation during the Open Mornings, and tours will begin promptly between 9.15am and 9.30am from the Main Hall as visitors arrive.

To complement our Open Mornings, our Open Evening on Wednesday 25 September provides a further exciting opportunity for prospective pupils and their parents to visit the school together.  During the evening you will be invited to tour the school, engage in ‘hands on’ and immersive family learning and participate in extra-curricular activities.  You will be able to talk to our Heads of Faculty, subject teachers and support staff to learn more about our curriculum, the challenges and support available.  Alongside these activities, in 3 repeat presentations during the evening at 5.40pm, 6.20pm and 7.00pm in the Main Hall, we and some of our current pupils, will present our vision for learning at the school and share Deer Park’s mission for everyone to be the best they can be every day. Refreshments will be provided by The Friends of Cirencester Deer Park School in the school’s Atrium.

While each event will be very pupil focused, members of the school’s leadership team and other staff, including members of our Pastoral team, will be on hand to respond to any questions you may have regarding the transition to secondary school.

To further inform your planning and decision making, we encourage you to explore this website , especially Latest News and Galleries, which highlight the breadth of our extended and extra-curriculum.  We are immensely proud of the commitment of our staff to our pupils and their learning and our rich and diverse provision.

If for any reason you are unable to attend on the above dates, please do not hesitate to contact Allison Boucher, Co-Heads’ PA, by email to A.Boucher@deerparkschool.net or phone on 01285 646558 to arrange an alternative mutually convenient tour of the school.  She will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the admissions process.

We look forward to welcoming you to our School at one or more of our ‘open’ events, and look forward to current Year 6 pupils joining Cirencester Deer Park School in September 2025. The deadline for secondary school applications for current Year 6 pupils is 31 October 2024.
