During week commencing 1 July 2024, all pupils at Cirencester Deer Park School were off timetable and being challenged to achieve more. They were learning new skills, experiencing new situations, spending time with different people and developing resilience, independence and confidence. Whilst (new) Year 11 pupils were out on Work Experience, pupils in (new) Years 8 to 10 were taking part in Enrichment Week.

• Aim for the Stars - developing team building and communication skills within tutor groups
• Art in Cornwall - being inspired by the light and sights of Cornwall
• Football - technical and tactical coaching at school with Swindon Town and at Tottenham Hotspur
• DofE Training and Expedition - training and practice, plus Qualifying Expedition
• M-A-S-S-I-V-E - new experiences and challenges based at school and locally
• In-school - on-site activities
• France (Côte d'Opale) - enhancing language skills on a physical activities trip
• Germany (Rheinland) - widening horizons and experiencing the culture
• The Netherlands - broadening knowledge and understanding of this fascinating country
• Bake Off - teamwork and skills enhancement whilst creating culinary delights
• Ghana 2024 - two week volunteering trip to Ghana, pupils in (new) Year 11 and the Class 0f 2024
• Work Experience - (new) Year 11 pupils increasing their awareness of the world of work

From cooking sausages over a fire in the woods, travelling abroad for the first time, paddleboarding in the rain, working together to overcome a challenge, creating something amazing, or climbing to great heights, pupils in (new) Years 8-10 stepped outside their comfort zones and showed themselves to be flexible team players.

(New) Year 11s spent the week in a variety of work placements - whether working with animals or children; whether doing something practical or theoretical; whether in Science, Education or Retail - they have grown in confidence and knowledge.
