Song Release 2022
Deer Park pupils' song 'We're On Our Way Up' is released!
Our 4th original song with The Music Works is now live on YouTube:
'We're On Our Way Up' by pupils at Cirencester Deer Park School
You can see from the video what fun our pupils, who are in Year 10 and Year 11, had during the recording day (read more...) and the energy they brought to the project and recording.
These young people should be incredibly proud of their achievement; many staff at The Music Works commented that these pupils were the best sounding singers they have had in from a school!
Pupils also recorded in the band parts for the song, making it all completely their own - Tim on bass, Mackenzie on guitar, Gil on drums; and Will and Nigel on piano.
Pupils performed the song live to the rest of the school at Party in the Park, on the last day of term, and Picnic in the Park in July 2022.
Miss Faux, Music Teacher 'It is always so exciting when the video is released as it is a few months after the recording day. This video in particular emphasises the fun our pupils had during the day as well as the opportunity to be in the state-of-the-art studio space The Music Works have built up.'
Emily (Year 10) 'We were all excited to see the video release and the end product is really effective with the shots of the band, the singers and us outside. It's definitely a project I will remember, and the video is something we can keep forever.'
The Songwriting Project is a 10-week programme of songwriting and singing offered by our Expressive Arts Faculty, working with The Music Works. Pupils in Year 8 and Year 9 should look out for the opportunity to take part in 2023.
