After a four year wait, our Expressive Arts Faculty are very excited to launch Talent Show 2022! This biennial event, open to all Deer Park pupils, is a three-night extravaganza across one week, raising money for BBC Children in Need.

In assemblies, pupils have been told to start thinking about what they could do and begin rehearsing ready for November! Josh in Year 11 said ‘I am very excited for the Talent Show. The last time we had one at school was when I was in Year 7. I am part of a band, TNT, and we are starting rehearsals straight away.’

Previous acts have involved pupils performing musical instruments, magic tricks and gymnastics, as well as bands, unicyclists and even dancing dogs! The acts can be in groups, pairs or solo items and pupils will be judged in Key Stage 3 and 4 categories, with an overall Talent Show winner.

Etienne (Year 7) said ‘My sister has been talking about the Talent Show non-stop! I’m really excited to see what people in this school can do.’

Pupils can enter the Talent Show online via the Expressive Arts website, accessible through RMUnify. The tickets will go on sale after the Talent Show application deadline, once all acts have been allocated a heat night.

Mrs Gleed, Head of Expressive Arts, said ‘I am really looking forward to the Talent Show this year. Everything was paused in 2020 when the last Talent Show would have been, so we’re ready for another Talent Show! This event showcases so many children at the school, it’s such a fantastic experience for them. So many pupils surprise you with what they are interested in and how much effort they have put in to getting an act ready for the show. It is fantastic. And of course, it is all for Children in Need, which makes the event even more special.’
