Brain Tumour Research #100Strikes

Non Uniform Day for Brain Tumour Research

On Friday 11 February 2022 we will be holding a Non Uniform Day in aid of Brain Tumour Research. Tickets (£1 in advance, £2 on the day) go on sale from Monday 31 January in tutor times.

One of our Year 8 pupils, who in Year 7 underwent multiple operations, high-dose radiotherapy and months of chemo, is aiming to raise £100,000 for Brain Tumour Research and the funds raised from our Non Uniform Day will go towards his '100 Strikes' fundraising efforts.

Ed's #100Strikes will involve him taking 100 penalty kicks at 100 different locations. Sometimes with only jumpers for goal posts, sometimes as half-time kicks at major football grounds... each kick is a major achievement for a boy who came out of surgery unable to walk or talk.

Mr Reed, Assistant Pastoral Team Leader: 'As ever, we are extremely proud to be a supporting a charitable organisation whose work benefits so many. In this instance this feeling of pride is even more profound, as we are also supporting the bravery and endeavour of one of our own.'

As at 28 January 2022, Ed is almost halfway to his target of £100,000. You can find out more about Ed's 100 Strikes on his website www.100strikesatcancer.org and check social media for the latest news.

If you know anyone, particularly if football-related, who might be willing and able to help Ed reach his #100Strikes (100 penalty kicks at 100 different locations), please do contact Team 100 Strikes (Team Captain is of course Ed!).
