Our School Uniform is an important part of being a member of the Deer Park community. It is important that you wear the right clothing and bring the right equipment with you when you come to School. Our uniform is simple and intended to be comfortable but smart, to allow learners to learn and teachers to teach.
Our uniform is available from:
- D & J Sports – all uniform items, including PE kit, can be bought from the D&J Sports shop at 75 Cricklade Street, Cirencester or from their website;
- Trutex – all main uniform items (but not PE kit) are available online from Trutex, using school code LEA00613SC.
All personal items should be clearly named with your full name, so that any lost property can be returned to the rightful owner. If you lose any item in school, please initially retrace your steps, to see if it is still where you left it. You can then speak to staff on Reception to check if the item has been handed in. Named items that are found or handed in will be returned to you.
You may be aware that in October 2025 the Government confirmed that, from September 2026, all schools must limit the number of compulsory branded uniform items. In response, we have reviewed our current uniform policy in line with the Government’s definition of branded items and the requirements of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. This review has also taken into account the notice periods we are required to give to our uniform suppliers.

Shirts
Shirt: The Deer Park striped shirt, provided by Trutex, is the first branded compulsory item. It is either the fitted with revere collar, or unisex version, short, 3⁄4 length or long sleeved. All shirts should be worntucked in. A simple plain white sleeveless vest can be worn under the shirt as long as it cannot be seen in the open neck of the collar.
Jumpers
Jumpers: The Deer Park navy blue v-neck jumper or cardigan with school logo embroidered on it is the second compulsory branded item. There are two choices of jumper style. These should be worn over the Deer Park striped shirt.
Skirts
Skirts: Black school uniform pleated skirt. All skirts should be worn at full length, unrolled at the waist and should be of an appropriate length. We recommend the kick pleat skirt, or junior and senior stitch down pleat skirts available from Trutex and D&J Sports.
Trousers
Trousers: Black school uniform trousers.
Footwear
Footwear (including socks and tights): Black school shoes. These should be plain, substantial, hardwearing and of a sensible design. Heels should be of a sensible height and certainly no higher than 2 inches. Plain black trainers, or plain black canvas lace up shoes/daps, without logos, are acceptable. Sturdier footwear is only acceptable during episodes of extremely poor weather, e.g. snow.
Tights: Plain Black or skin-coloured tights
Socks: Plain Black or white socks
PE Kit
PE kit: The Deer Park navy and pale blue, polo shirt, shorts or skort and rugby top. The optional Deer Park PE legging, track pants, ¼ zip top or PE hoody.
Hair and makeup
Hair and makeup: Hair should be clean and tidy. Hair styles should be appropriate and kept a natural hair colour. Long hair should be worn tied back for certain activities for students’ health and safety. Makeup, if worn, should be minimal, discrete and neutral/natural.
Jewellery
Jewellery: Wristwatch with plain strap. Subtle and discrete earrings: small single studs or sleepers with only one to be worn in each ear lobe. One simple thin gold or silver chain or pendant worn under clothing. One simple thin gold or silver bracelet. One discrete signet style ring.
Coats
Coats: A plain dark coat can be worn as an item of outdoor clothing. These should be worn over school uniform jumpers, but not in place of them. Coats must be removed in classrooms and offices and when seated or eating in the Hall or Atrium.
Optional navy blue and orange ¼ zip top as an additional layer for warmth which can be worn indoors and in classrooms.
School Bag
Fleeces
Fleeces: Optional navy blue and yellow 1⁄4 zip top as an additional layer for warmth. We will accept a plain navy fleece as an alternative.
As you will appreciate, we cannot change our uniform in response to changes in fashion. If the correct school uniform is not worn, or not worn correctly, students and parents will be given a short period of notice to improve. Students will often be given a ‘spare’ item by pastoral staff to wear in the short term until a replacement can be purchased. Students will be asked to remove items of non-uniform and, in some circumstances, these may be confiscated. Persistent failure to adhere to our simple dress code will lead to serious sanctions.
Trousers & Skirts
Please note – we recommend that all students purchase and wear trousers, as we are considering phasing out skirts the following year.
From September 2026, we will be consulting on a proposed change to the school uniform so that all students wear trousers. This proposal is intended to support high standards of dress, as well as students’ pride and dignity. We will ensure that the consultation reflects the views of the whole school community before any decisions are made
Personal Possessions
Parents and students are reminded that the school’s insurance does not cover students’ belongings that may be lost or damaged on site. All personal possessions (including mobile phones, watches, jewellery etc) are brought to school at students’ own risk and students are responsible for keeping them safe. We therefore discourage students from bringing expensive or precious items into school.
Outgrown Uniform
If you have items of good quality, clean uniform (including PE kit) that are no longer required, then please consider donating the items to The Friends of Deer Park, who arrange sales of second hand uniform. Items should be bagged and marked up clearly FAO Friends of Deer Park and taken to Reception.
