They showed impressive computational thinking

UK Bebras Coding Challenge 2026

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our pupils, who took part in the 2026 UK Bebras Coding Challenge during the last week of April, Year 8 and Year 9 Computing pupils, alongside our Year 10 GCSE Computer Science students, embraced this national competition with great enthusiasm for the second year running, demonstrating impressive computational thinking, creativity, problem-solving skills and programmed solutions.

Their results are truly outstanding – top 10% nationally:

· 6 Year 8 pupils achieved Gold

· 2 Year 9 pupils achieved Gold at the Novice level

· 3 Year 9 pupils achieved Gold at the Explorer (advanced) level

· 12 Year 10 students achieved Gold at Explorer (advanced) level

Notably, several pupils went above and beyond by tackling more demanding tasks intended for the next year group, highlighting their determination, ambition, and willingness to challenge themselves further.

This success builds on their participation in the UK Bebras Computational Problem Solving Challenge last autumn, and it is fantastic to see their confidence and skills continuing to flourish. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and enthusiasm for Computing & IT, and look forward to seeing how they build on these achievements in future projects and competitions.

Did you know the UK Bebras Challenge is run by the Raspberry Pi Foundation? There are also a range of engaging, secondary-focused computing activities available for those keen to continue developing their skills.
