A special tea break took place this afternoon, led by students who are working towards an ASDAN qualification.
ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) is an educational charity and awarding organisation that develops and accredits programmes aimed at helping young people develop personal, social and employability skills.
Our waiters and waitresses and their willing customers (support staff, plus Ms Messinger and Mrs Howe) enjoyed a break from a busy end of term school day to have a drink, a sweet treat and a chat. The students took the orders, prepared the drinks, served them and handed around plates of biscuits. They interacted with staff confidently and provided an efficient and friendly service before carefully cleaning up at the end.
Mrs McPherson was proud of how well the students carried out their tasks and explained that this was a “perfect exercise to develop students’ social and communication skills”.
