There is a lot of new information to take in when your child starts a new school.
This page should help direct you to areas of our website that can answer questions you might have.
If you are unable to find what you need, please do not hesitate to contact us at enquiries@deerparkschool.net.
Timetables
Your child will receive a printed copy of their timetable, and it can also be accessed on the Bromcom student portal app, once you have registered on the MyChildAtSchool app.
As we are a smartphone-free school, this app should only be accessed once students are off the school site or outside of school hours. For information about the structureof the school day, visit ‘Our School Day’ page here.
Parent Communication
We know that students thrive when there is a strong partnership between home and school. We believe in the importance of regular and relevant two-way communication, including:
- A weekly school newsletter that is sent out via email every Friday
- The MyChildAtSchool app, where you can find reports, positive behaviour points, attendance, exam details, timetables, and lunch money balances
- Letters about events, trips or school updates that are relevant to your child or their year group
A list of school e-mail addresses can be found here, including those of faculty staff. You are welcome to contact your child’s subject teachers, their tutor, or their Pastoral Year Leader, within term-time.
Our general contact details can be found here
Extra Curriculum
We offer more than a visible curriculum. Pupils are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extended and extracurricular activities, many of which are designed to support learning as well as promoting interests and developing abilities in new areas.
Visit the Extra Curriculum page here
Mobile Phones & Devices
We are a smartphone-free school so the use of mobile phones is not permitted across the school site between 8:45 am and 3:25 pm, both indoors and outdoors.
In setting this rule, we have taken careful consideration of the impact of mobile phones on students’ academic performance, social interactions, and overall well-being.
